During what hours is construction noise allowed?
Construction noise for work related to a valid building permit is allowed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:59 PM, Monday through Saturday. It is not allowed on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, and is not allowed on Sundays. Emergency work is excepted. If you have any further questions, please reference our Town Code, Title 5 Chapter 8 Section 6: Construction Noise.

What if the jobsite doesn't have enough parking for my construction vehicles?
Normal parking laws and regulations apply to all streets in Breckenridge, even if there is an active construction project present.  Construction parking is allowed on many Town streets that are outside of the downtown core with pre-approval from the Streets department.  Construction parking cannot, under any circumstances, interfere with right-of-way activities such as plowing.  Parked vehicles that impede snow plowing will be ticketed.  Permitted projects within the downtown core are eligible for up to 3 construction parking permits per job site that would apply to on-street parking where conditions permit.  Visit https://www.breckpark.com/special-permits to apply (copy of active building permit required).  Construction parking is strictly enforced.

I got a notification that my permit is ready, what do I do next?
Once you pay your permit fees, either online or in person, your permit will be issued and construction can begin.  All permits that are applied for digitally will be transmitted digitally via email once issued.  It is the permit holder's responsibility to have all permit documents (permit, plans, etc.) available onsite, either physically or digitally, for the duration of the project.

How much do permits cost?
The cost of a permit varies based on the type of permit, the valuation of work, and for certain permit types, square footage.  The current fee schedule can be found here.  Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical permits have an automatic 65% plan check fee in addition to the permit fee.  The plan check fee covers staff time to review plans as well as to process the permit.

What payment types do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, eChecks, and checks. Payments can be made using the  Access Portal, or in person.  We do not accept payments over the phone.  Credit cards have an automatic 3% surcharge added, eChecks have an automatic $1.95 flat surcharge added. You can avoid the surcharge by paying in person with a check!  Surcharges are collected by the processor, not the Town of Breckenridge.

How do I schedule inspections?
All permits require inspections.  For more info, visit our inspections page.
